Natanael Rodriguez Cuxun, of Arlington, was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Snowden River Parkway near Rustling Leaf in Columbia when he was shot and later died at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to investigators.

Detectives believe that a shooter fired several shots at his vehicle at around 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21 from another vehicle that fled the scene.

Cuxun was struck once, and two others inside the vehicle were uninjured. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, where he died from his injuries.

It is not believed to be a random assault, though the incident remains under investigation.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of a possible gunman.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Howard County Police Department by calling (410) 313-STOP or emailing tips to HCPDcrimetips@howardcountymd.gov.
